Richmond Folk Festival

This past Saturday we went to the Richmond Folk Festival in downtown Richmond.
It was a lot of fun and a lot of people.
The weather was beautiful and sunny.
Great food and good music.

A view of downtown from the festival.

One of the small bridges that connects to Brown's Island, where part of the festival took place.

A view, when crossing the bridge.

Giant Granny Square Update

A quick update.  Still working on my giant granny square.  It's been a bit slow going, because I haven't had a lot of time to work on it.  Right now I have completed 43 rounds.  I haven't decided yet, how big I want to make it, so I'll keep going, until I figure it out.
Happy crocheting!

My Growing Granny!

Here it is!  My granny a week later.  It's going quite a bit slower now, since each round takes more time to crochet and we've had some extremely hot days, where I just couldn't get myself to crochet a whole lot.  Just tried to stay cool.  But it's getting bigger.  I don't know how big we're supposed to make it.  I think each one of us in the group sets her own limits.  I'll see how it will go!  Right now I'm having fun with it, so I'll keep on crocheting some more.

Granny Update!

So, this is what my granny looks like after 3 days.  I have crocheted 23 rows so far.  I'm trying to catch up a little to everyone else in the group.
It's coming along quite nicely.
Since it is very hooot out and tomorrow it's supposed to hit the century mark, I don't know how much crocheting I'll get done in the next few days.

A Growing Granny

A new project, I'm very excited about.  I've joined a group of crocheters here.  Everybody is making a granny square to see how big it can get.  The size is unlimited and the color is anybody's choice.  Sounds like fun, doesn't it?  And to see all the different grannies and how they're coming along.  It's a great way to share each other's projects.  Thank you Angie for including me.
I started yesterday.  So far I've only got 11 rounds. You can see it below.
It's a good distraction to the afghan I'm making.
You can see all the different grannies, if you click on the colorful button on the left.

Just crocheting!

Here is my afghan I've been working on for a while now.  Slowly it's getting bigger.  I try to crochet a row or two every day or other day.  Maybe one of these days I'll get it finished.  I guess I set my goal pretty high, trying to make it big enough to cover a queen bed, instead of just making a throw for the couch.
It keeps my hands occupied and my mind off other things.  I usually work on it when watching a movie or a show on TV.  It does relax.:)

Just wanted to share it with everyone.  I got the pattern from Lucy's blog and you can see her tutorial right here.  Thank you so much Lucy for your wonderful directions.  They're very easy to follow.  If you love crocheting you should check it out.

Crochet Bag

Since I've had a lot more time at home after being sick, I actually did some crocheting.  Here is my bag that I finished.  It's great for holding yarn and hooks and things.  I love it!
I found the pattern here.
Lucy's blog is really inspiring and has some awesome tutorials.
I'm also working on a ripple afghan I found there, but it will be a long time before it gets finished.  I'll show a picture later on my progress.
Thank you Lucy for your easy to follow patterns.
